-- Multiple eateries in Vung Tau City of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam have shared images and videos to expose a foreigner who engaged in fraudulent behavior by intentionally causing confusion during minor transactions. Previously local police had pressed charges against an Iranian individual for similar deceptive practices.

-- Following a gambling case at a poker club, the investigation agency of the Department of Public Security in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam uncovered more illicit casinos operating in Nha Trang City, reportedly run by Chinese and Cambodian nationals.

-- An area of land along a swamp in Tan Tao Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City is littered with medical waste, including glass bottles containing liquid and bearing the label ‘corrosive.’

-- Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has announced a recall of 2,097 cars in the country to check and replace components for free.

-- The Statistics Office of Ho Chi Minh City reported an uptrend in the real estate market, with an estimated 9.8-percent increase in realty business revenue to VND80.85 trillion (US$3.17 billion) in January-April. Additionally, tax revenue from houses and land surged 37.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

-- The number of e-wallet users in Vietnam is forecast to jump 40 percent compared to 2023, reaching 50 million by the end of 2024, according to card payment organization Visa.
