Police in Thai Nguyen Province, northern Vietnam fined a car driver VND4 million (US$157) and suspended his driver’s license for two months after he was found carrying four women in the car’s trunk.
On Sunday, a video surfaced on social media showing a blue sedan carrying four women in the trunk as it passed through Hoa Thuong Town in Thai Nguyen’s Dong Hy District.
The footage depicted the four women with their feet outside the trunk while it was open.
According to the 35-year-old driver named N., who resides in Thai Nguyen City of the province, the four women, 18-20 years old, had their clothes wet from swimming.
Fearing they would soil the car’s interior, they opted to sit in the luggage compartment while heading home.
As a result, N. was slapped with an administrative fine of VND4 million and a two-month driver’s license suspension.
