A Vietnam Airlines flight en route from Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh City made an emergency landing in Taiwan on Friday to provide urgent medical assistance to a Vietnamese passenger.
According to Vietnam Airlines, after flight VN307 flew for more than two hours, 32-year-old Vietnamese passenger V.T.V., began experiencing health issues, including suspected low blood pressure and cold hands and feet.
The crew requested assistance from a nurse onboard, who assessed that V.T.V. needed immediate medical attention to avoid serious health risks.
The crew promptly contacted Vietnam Airlines’ operations center via the in-flight communication system and decided to divert the flight to the nearest airport, Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, for emergency care.
The plane landed at 1:27 pm (local time) on Friday.
Upon landing, Vietnam Airlines’ Taiwan branch arranged an ambulance, and the passenger was quickly transported to a nearby hospital.
The passenger showed signs of improvement and underwent further tests.
The airline has been in regular contact to monitor the passenger’s condition and offer additional assistance if needed.
After the emergency situation was handled, flight VN307 continued its journey to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving three hours and 10 minutes later than scheduled.
