A truck crashed into a roadside grocery store in Ky Son District, Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam on Sunday, killing six people, a local official has confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
The accident took place at 4:45 pm when the driver, V.V.H., a 43-year-old resident of Nghe An, was carrying dong leaves through Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District, according to Xong Ba Lau, chairman of the commune's administration.
As the truck drove down a slope, it veered off the road, crashing into the grocery store.
The crash claimed the lives of five people on the spot, including three children. A sixth victim died at the hospital.
Emergency responders and local authorities arrived at the scene to investigate and provide assistance to the victims' families.

The victims were trapped under the truck and debris due to the crash collapsing part of the grocery store.
The trucker has been detained for questioning.
Phan Huy Chương, deputy head of the Nghe An Traffic Safety Board, said that representatives from the board visited the scene on Monday morning to offer condolences and initial support of VND5 million (US$196.6) per deceased victim to the bereaved families.
The deceased have been identified as L.T.K., 40, V.Y.D., 20, V.T.P., 7, V.X.D.,9, V.Y.M., 11, and V.Y.D., 2.
They were all related to each other.
