Vietnamese fans are known for their willingness to celebrate any victory of their beloved football team, regardless of the class of the tournament. The latest example is celebrations in the country’s big cities on Friday night, after Vietnam secured their second straight win at the 2018 AFF Championship.
The Golden Stars beat Malaysia 2-0 at home in their second Group A game at the tournament, contested by ten nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation.
In Ho Chi Minh City, football supporters flocked to the streets near the Nguyen Hue promenade in District 1 to celebrate as hard as fans of a FIFA World Cup winner can do.
The crowds in the southern metropolis are no lesser than those in Hanoi, where the match took place at the My Dinh National Stadium.
Thousands of Vietnamese people, as in many other regional football events, created a fantastic atmosphere, even though the tourney is still a couple matches away from the knock-out stage.
