Le Hoang Phuong, 27, from south-central Khanh Hoa Province, was crowned Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 during the grand finale in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday evening.
Phuong outshined 43 other contestants to win the title on the coronation night at Phu Tho Gymnasium in District 11 .
She succeeds last year’s winner Doan Thien An and will now prepare to compete in the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant, to be held at the same venue this October.

Bui Khanh Linh was named first runner-up while Truong Qui Minh Nhan, Le Thi Hong Hanh, and Dang Hoang Tam Nhu were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Reigning Miss Grand International (MGI) Isabella Menin from Brazil graced the glittering event as a special guest, alongside the MGI pageant’s executives Nawat Itsaragrisil and Teresa Chaivisut.

The 44 contestants participated in five rounds during Sunday’s finale, namely introductions, swimsuits, evening gowns, speeches, and the Q&A portion.
Nguyen Vinh Ha Phuong, who stood out for her use of operatic vocal techniques, earned the ‘Best Introduction’ prize.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hang was recognized with the ‘Best in Swimsuit’ prize, which also made her the first contestant to secure a spot in the top 20.

After the first three rounds, the panel of judges selected the top 10 contestants for the speech round, where each participant shared their views on various topics, such as family discord, experiences with school violence, and effective interpersonal communication.
The contestants exhibited confidence in expressing themselves in Vietnamese and English.

The top five contestants proceeded to the Q&A portion, taking turns drawing questions and providing responses.
It was noted that all five questions were considered quite simple and were available before in various contexts.

Eventually, Le Hoang Phuong, a 27-year-old fashion model and architecture graduate from Khanh Hoa Province, was announced the winner.
No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Grand Vietnam is a former contestant at Miss Universe Vietnam. She placed in the top five in 2022 and bagged the ‘Best in Swimsuit’ and ‘Best Face’ prizes in 2019.
