A fair held at Thong Nhat Conference Hall in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City is providing local residents and visitors to the city the opportunity to explore regional specialties and traditional crafting.

The Local Specialties-Traditional Craft Villages program, organized by the Business Studies & Assistance Center and the Business Association of High Quality Vietnamese Products, kicked off on Friday and is running until Sunday.

The event features over 40 businesses showcasing products like rice paper from southern Tay Ninh Province, cocoa from the Mekong Delta region, cashew nuts from southern Binh Phuoc Province, and dried persimmons from Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

In addition to shopping, the program offers experiential activities, product trials, games, and especially daily demonstrations on preparing traditional desserts and cakes from different regions from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

The vibrant atmosphere on the opening day drew a large crowd, with visitors expressing enthusiasm for trying various dishes, purchasing New Year gifts, and exploring traditional crafts. 

Artisans also guide visitors in crafting experiences, including making ‘to he’ (edible toy statuettes), loofah and grass products, beeswax painting, and brocade and silk weaving.
