Vietnam has triumphed in the World’s Leading Heritage Destination category in the 2020 edition of the prestigious World Travel Awards, which was announced at an awards ceremony held in Moscow on November 27.

A highly coveted title initiated in 1993, the World Travel Awards is held on an annual basis to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global tourism industry.

Graham Cooke, founder of World Travel Awards, extended his congratulations to the winners and extolled their achievements in the tourism sector.

“They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges,” he remarked.

The consecutive victories of Vietnam in the global arena attest to the country’s ample potential in tourism development, notably the vast array of cultural heritages that are enjoying rising popularity with foreign travelers.

The awards also recognize the efforts of Vietnamese agencies in preserving and promoting the domestic heritage.

In early November, Vietnam was also honored by the World Travel Awards as Asia’s leading destination in three categories: culinary, culture, and heritage.
