Vincom Center A shopping mall in Ho Chi Minh City will be renamed Catinat starting tomorrow. Catinat is the former name of the current Dong Khoi Street on which the mall is situated.

A leader of Future Investment and Trading Services Company Limited told Tuoi Tre that Catinat is a name that sticks with the city’s history since the 19th century.

The Vietnam Infrastructure and Property Development Group (VIPD) bought the entire stake of Vincom Center A from Vingroup on 9th June 2013. The post-tax profit from this deal is VND4,300 billion ($215,000,000). Future Investment and Trading Services Company is a member of VIPD.

Vincom Center A is a luxurious shopping mall located on a prime site in HCMC’s District 1, surrounded by Le Thanh Ton, Dong Khoi, Le Loi and Nguyen Hue streets. It has nine floors and six basements, with four floors for a high-end retail mall and a five-star hotel from the fifth floor upwards.
