Vinamilk, Vietnam’s leading state-run dairy producer, on Wednesday opened a dairy cow farm spanning 685 hectares – the largest such facility in the country.
The farm is located in Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province, and designed to house as many as 8,000 dairy cows capable of providing 100,000 liters of fresh milk per day, equivalent to 40 million liters of milk annually.
This is the tenth Vinamilk dairy cow farm in Vietnam which meets the global good agricultural practices (GAP) in terms of farm management and milk quality.
It is equipped with modern technical applications designed to help ensure suitable living conditions and health for the cows.
The operation of the Tay Ninh farm is also expected to help grow Vinamilk’s cow herd in Vietnam to 200,000 by 2020, meeting the fresh milk material demand for production, according to the company’s CEO Mai Kieu Lien.

The farm not only helps Vinamilk achieve its growth targets but also contributes to local economic development, she added.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Tran Van Chien, deputy chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that the farm has created more jobs and income for local people. He also shared his hope that Vinamilk will build a milk processing plant in the province in the near future.
To celebrate the opening of the farm, Vinamilk presented 61,633 cups of milk to children in Tay Ninh Province, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Last year, the Vietnamese dairy giant also launched a high-tech dairy farm in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa.
