Vietnam’s southern economic hub Ho Chi Minh City warmly received nearly 460 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) tourists from India on Friday, one of the largest Indian MICE travel groups to the country ever.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, and relevant officials showed up to welcome the Indian MICE tourist group upon their arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on the day.
Another welcome ceremony was also organized at the hotel where the group is staying through Monday.
The 460 MICE tourists include leaders, officers, and employees of Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd, an Indian bus and truck manufacturer.
The Vietnamese Embassy in India, in collaboration with the Asian Destination Management JSC, chose Ho Chi Minh City as the destination for this MICE tourist group, which is one of the largest MICE delegations from India that Vietnam has ever welcomed.
After attending a conference, the 460 visitors are scheduled to visit the Saigon River and enjoy food on the Indochina Queen Rivercruiser yacht, along with shopping and entertainment activities and visiting the Mekong Delta region.
After a long lull due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ho Chi Minh City is seeing increasing demand for MICE tourism from both Vietnamese and foreign customers.
Seizing this opportunity, the administration of the southern Vietnamese economic hub has been offering many MICE tourism promotions.
