Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Vietjet Air on Monday started running flights on the Ho Chi Minh City - Busan route.
The maiden flight was warmly welcomed with a water salute at Gimhae International Airport, followed by the launch ceremony for the Busan - Ho Chi Minh City service, the airline said in a press release the same day.
Passengers on all debut flights received welcome flowers and souvenir gifts from the airline.
The inaugural flight of the Da Nang - Busan service already took off on July 20 while the Hanoi/Nha Trang - Busan routes have been back to service from July 1 and July 21, respectively.
The four routes connecting key Vietnamese cities with Busan operate one daily return flight each, with flight time lasting five hours per leg on average.
The new services have been highly anticipated and embraced by travelers for tourism, business trip, and overseas study purposes.
Air tickets on all Busan routes are offered at as low as US$12 per leg, exclusive of taxes and fees.
Along with the four direct routes to Busan, Vietjet currently operates six services from Vienam’s top destinations, namely Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Hai Phong, to Seoul with 1-2 return flights on a daily basis and it will increase the flight frequency in the coming time.
While South Korea has resumed the issuance of short-term travel visas, South Korean travelers can now enjoy visa exemption for a stay of up to 15 days in Vietnam.
International visitors are not required to present coronavirus test results or to file health declarations upon arrival in Vietnam.
