The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee organized the 2025 National Olympic Run Day for Public Health on Sunday morning, attracting nearly 5,000 participants.

The annual event, which takes place at the end of March, is not a running competition, but a public health initiative aimed at encouraging residents to engage in physical exercise and improve their well-being.

The Olympic Run Day was part of the city's broader efforts to promote sports and physical activities, with March being designated as the ‘Sports Month.’

The event marked the 79th anniversary of the Vietnam Sports Day (March 27), and the 94th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26).

The sporting event saw some 5,000 participants, including officials from local departments, and a large number of residents from various districts.

The route, which spanned over two kilometers, passed through several famous landmarks, including Le Duan Street, April 30 Park, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Dong Khoi Street, and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee office building.

At this year’s event, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, vice-chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, presented certificates of merit to individuals and groups who had made significant contributions to the successful organization of the 2025 Olympic Run Day for Public Health.
