MobiFone, a major state-run telecom service provider in Vietnam, has apologized to customers and offered compensation including free data and calls for the service disruption that lasted for hours on Wednesday.

Many MobiFone subscribers reported receiving a text message about the compensation from the mobile operator on Thursday.

The text said that they are provided with 4GB of Internet data, 10 minutes of inter-network calls, and 20 minutes of intra-network calls.

However, the package will expire after 24 hours from the time of receiving the message.

Many subscribers said that the compensation was unsatisfactory.

The disruption began at around 4:00 pm on Wednesday, with many users reporting unstable network signals.

As of 5:00 pm, the majority of subscribers said they noticed the ‘no service’ sign on their phones.

By 7:00 pm, some subscribers had seen the mobile signal back to normal, but others were still unable to use the service.
