Hanoi enjoyed a 10.3-percent year-on-year rise in tourism revenue last month at more than VND9.2 trillion (US$365 million), during which the Vietnamese capital city welcomed 2.52 million tourist arrivals.

The number of international visitors accounted for an estimated 468,000, falling by 28,000 against June, since the country entered the low season for inbound tourism.

The capital city saw its average hotel occupancy rate exceed 58 percent in July.

During the January-July period, Hanoi served around 16.44 million tourist arrivals, representing an 11.8-percent increase versus last year.

Of the total, international tourist arrivals reached 3.43 million, soaring over 42 percent year on year.

To attract more visitors and offer a better travel experience, the Vietnamese capital is set to host plenty of enthralling events during the rest of the year, such as the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, a series of sports events, and other festivals promoting the culture and history of the city.
