THACO AUTO, a subsidiary of Vietnamese automaker THACO, has shipped a batch of car bodies and parts of the Kia New Carnival to Kia India.
This was the first batch of a deal previously signed by the firm and its partner with total revenue of some US$50 million.
In June, THACO AUTO produced Kia New Carnival components and bodies, and then sent them to India for testing.
These products met all requirements on standards, technology, and quality, and were highly valued by Kia India.
Its car bodies and parts were manufactured at the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam.

The batch was exported to India from Chu Lai Port.
The cooperation between Chu Lai Port and Regional Container Lines (RCL), a Thai-based container shipping lines company, to operate some new maritime routes connecting with Chennai, Kolkata, and Kattupalli ports in India has facilitated THACO AUTO’s export and import between Vietnam and India.
Over the past few years, the Vietnamese firm has expanded its reach to several nations such as the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, and India.
Apart from exporting cars and auto parts, the company is enhancing its investments, working to transfer technology, improving production lines, and promoting digital governance to beef up its production capacity.
