A Singaporean company has recently obtained an investment license to build an international tourism university in central Vietnam, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said late last week.

The VND316 billion ($14.91 million) Pegasus International University, covering a total area of over six hectares with two teaching components, dormitories, a hotel area, and other auxiliary constructions, will be built in Nha Trang, the capital of the central province of Khanh Hoa, by Pegasus Investments And Consultancy JSC, a Singaporean firm.

Besides creating more job opportunities for students, the planned university aims at training specialized and high-quality human resources for tourism and hospitality, providing students with foreign language and professional skills with international certificates.

The investor said it takes seven years to construct the university.

Khanh Hoa Province currently has two schools specializing in training personnel for tourism, including Nha Trang Vocational Training College and Nha Trang College of Tourism and Art-Culture.
