The Canadian Embassy in Vietnam recently launched a competition to seek visual artistic depictions of “Life of Pi”, and of its Oscar-nominated 3D movie version.
The competition, co-organized by Nha Nam Co., is on the lookout for works which illustrate the themes or main messages conveyed by “Life of Pi”, a book by Canadian author Yann Martel, or its film version, in any of the visual arts including paintings, graphics, photography, designs and videos.
All youths aged from 15 to 25 who have read the book or watched the film can send their works to Nha Nam Co. at 59 Do Quang, Trung Hoa, Hanoi or to the email address cuocdoicuapi2013@gmail.com until May 30.
In addition to a BlackBerry Bold 9900 mobile phone for the winner, the organizers will also give away ten other prizes.
The 3D film version of “Life of Pi”, a story about an Indian boy trapped on a boat with a Bengal tiger, earned 11 nominations at last year’s Oscar and received critical acclaim.
