Holland Village 2013, which was launched at 23/9 Park in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 on Friday evening, transformed the park, situated near the landmark market of Ben Thanh, into a small Dutch town.
The event, which will last until December 1, was organized by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in HCMC to celebrate the 40-year bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands.
With the theme of “Trade and Sustainability”, the event will offer both local residents and foreign visitors a chance to learn more about both traditional and modern Dutch culture, technology and innovation. Latest products of Dutch business community in Vietnam will also be introduced there.
Moreover, visitors can participate in many informative and interactive activities, like taking pictures in the 3D-photozone and tasting Dutch food at 12 houses with Dutch traditional architecture and booths selling specialties and crafts from the Netherlands. There are some booths featuring music performances, and showcasing a selection of outdoor activities as well.
Networking events for entrepreneurs and Vietnamese students will be held by the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV), one of the key supporters of Holland Village, during the event. There will also be seminars on water management and horticulture joined by Dutch delegations.
A Photo Contest “Netherlands & Vietnam, in your eyes” where you can share your personal views on both countries will also be held there, in which the winner will receive a ticket from HCMC to Amsterdam and the best photos will be showcased at the Holland Village.
