China tours have stolen the limelight at the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Fair, which kicked off at September 23 Park in District 1 on Thursday and wraps up on Sunday.
Several participating travel firms said that nine out of 10 visitors inquired about or booked China tours.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper’s reporter observed a significant demand for China tours on Friday, the second day of the fair, with most customers to the booths asking the same question: “Do you have China tours?”
Thanh Nhan, a resident of District 7, attended the event and booked a China tour to explore Kunming and Dali, famous for its purple phoenix flowers.
She said that she experienced a snow-capped mountain tour in Lijiang at the start of the year.
“China has numerous charming tourist destinations. I wish to explore more stunning places in the country,” Nhan shared.
Le Nhat Thien An, marketing manager at tour operator TransViet, said that the company is introducing not only tours for the summer and fall seasons, but also special packages for the National Day (September 2) holiday.
These tours are designed to cover destinations like Japan, China, and Taiwan.
However, the most popular tours have been those to China, she said.
The prices of five-day-and-four-night China tours range from VND10 million (US$388) to VND13 million ($504).
The attraction of China tours was attributed to China’s visa-free policy for tour groups.
Also, tourists now only need to submit their passports two days in advance, as opposed to the previous 10-day requirement.
On the first day of the annual event, TransViet reported that 200 customers had paid deposits, expecting to bring in VND3.6 billion ($140,000) if all contracts were finalized.
Of those, 60 percent were for China tours.
Similarly, the Golden Smile Corporation booth is seeing China tours as its best-sellers.
Particularly, its VND13-million ($504) Shanghai-Beijing tour, which lasts six days and five nights and includes 4-5-star services, proved to be a favorite among visitors.
This year’s event has brought together 32 businesses operating in the fields of travel, transportation, and aviation from 41 cities and provinces to promote destinations and stimulate tourism, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Nearly 900 tourism products and services with discounts of up to 45 percent from tour operators, hotels, tourist attractions, and other service businesses are on offer at the fair.
