Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay has recently been listed in the Top 10 Valentine’s Day Retreats among other romantic destinations around the world by National Geographic’s book “Four Seasons of Travel.”

The bay is introduced as “a vision of astonishing beauty” with more than 1,600 islands.

“Book an overnight cruise to watch the islands’ limestone pillars, caves, and arches become steeped in rich oranges and purples at sunset and veiled in an ethereal morning mist at sunrise,” the list recommends.

Other recommendations include California’s Post Ranch Inn, Arizona’s Sedona, and Vermont’s Covered Bridges in America; British Pullman Train in United Kingdom; Saariselkä’s Hotel Kakslauttanen in Finland, Paris’ Eiffel Tower in France; Cinque Terre’s The Lover’s Walk in Italy; Istrian Peninsula in Croatia, and The Classical Gardens of Suzhou in China.

Last July, the Vietnamese bay was also listed among the world's 10 most dramatic coastlines by famous American online news site Huffington Post. Also, on June 18, Ha Long Bay also was honoured in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice: Asia Destination Awards 2013. The bay ranked 25th in the list of top 25 destinations in Asia while other Vietnamese tourist destinations Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An ranked 14th, 15th and 17th in the list, respectively.
