Vietnamese boxers Ha Thi Linh and Vo Thi Kim Anh, both Olympic participants, have secured spots in the quarterfinals of the 2025 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Serbia.
On Wednesday morning (Vietnam time), Linh and Anh, both of whom competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, notched impressive victories at the competition.
Linh, seeded No. 5 in the 63kg weight class, triumphed 4-1 over Venezuela’s Alcala Omailyn in the round of 16.
She will face Latvia’s Sorokina Jekaterina in the quarterfinals.
In the 54kg category, Anh began her campaign with strong performances, defeating Zhao Xuan of China 5-0 and overcoming No. 8 seed Zeynab Rahimova of Azerbaijan 5-2.
Anh will now face top seed Bertal Widad of Morocco in the quarterfinals.
Both Linh and Anh are set to compete later on Wednesday night (Vietnam time).

The 2025 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships is underway in Niš, Serbia from March 8 to 16, with the Vietnamese boxing team sending eight athletes into the competition.
The team made a significant mark in the 2023 tournament, with Nguyen Thi Tam securing the runner-up spot in the 50kg weight class.
In addition to the World Championships, the Vietnamese team will also compete in several upcoming events this year, including the Asian Junior Boxing Championships from March 10 to 24, the Asian Youth & U22 Boxing Championships from April 14 to 28, the Asian Boxing Championships in June, the Asian Youth Games in September, the Asian Boxing Cup in November, and the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in December.
