The fourth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), themed “Cinema-Integration and Sustainable Development,” will take place from November 1 to 5.
The event has attracted around 550 films, including more than 300 long movies and over 200 shorts from 40 countries and territories such as India, Poland, Brazil, and South Korea.
Each HANIFF is a great occasion to promote the Vietnamese cinema, people and image to international friends, according to Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Ngo Phuong Lan, head of the Cinema Department, said that the organizers have decided to pay a higher copyright price for all artworks.
The 2016 HANIFF will include an outdoor film screening in combination with a Vietnam - Italy fashion show at Cach Mang Thang Tam Square on November 2, 3, and 4.
It will also have competitions, HANIFF Campus, a film project campus, conferences and exhibitions, according to VietNamNet.
This year’s festival will feature three new categories, including Best Long Movie, People’s Choice Long Movie, and Audience’s Favorite Vietnamese Movie.
All films will be screened free of charge at Kim Dong Cinema, Thang Tam Cinema, and Ngoc Khanh Cinema.
