Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Sunday welcomed Secretary-General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Japan Nikai Toshihiro and over 1,000 Japanese delegates who were visiting the Southeast Asian country for economic, cultural, and tourism exchange.

The welcome ceremony for Nikai, who also chairs the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, and his delegation was organized in Hoi An City, located in the central province of Quang Nam.

Phuc expressed his appreciation toward Secretary-General Nikai and other Japanese parliamentarians for their significant contributions to the Vietnam-Japan ties.

He called for more parliamentarian exchanges and cooperation between localities so as to reinforce the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, especially among the young generation.

This demonstrates Japan’s high consensus in the enhancement of the friendship with Vietnam, he said.
