Major streets in Hanoi have been decked out in national flags, banners, and decorations to prepare for the upcoming 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Decorations and preparations for the very important event have been complete in all districts, along major streets, and at the headquarters of centrally-run and Hanoi agencies, the Vietnam News Agency quoted vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung as saying on Tuesday.

All houses and institutions are required to fly the national flag from January 15 to February 14, Dung added.

Before, during, and after the Congress, thousands of officers and soldiers will be deployed to ensure security and safety.

The municipal health department is outlining COVID-19 prevention and control plans at different levels.
