The Japanese crown prince and crown princess arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Wednesday afternoon, commencing their official visit to Vietnam.

Their visit is aimed at marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

This is the third time Akishino has visited Vietnam. His previous visits were made in 1999 and 2012.
