President of the Cambodian National Assembly (NA) Samdech Khuon Sudary presided over a solemn welcome ceremony in Phnom Penh on Thursday afternoon for Vietnamese NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a high-ranking delegation, who are on a four-day official visit to the kingdom.
The event, held at Cambodia’s NA headquarters, featured a traditional flower presentation, national anthems, and a review of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces honor guard.
The two top legislators held talks following the ceremony.

NA President Khuon Sudary expressed her thanks to Man for paying an official visit to her country, where Man will attend the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, the 11th Plenary Session of International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and the inauguration of the Cambodian NA’s new administrative building -- a symbolic gift from the Vietnamese Party, state, and people.
She extended her regards to top Vietnamese officials -- including Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other cadres -- and the people of Vietnam.
Man reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to fostering a strong, neighborly relationship built on mutual trust and strategic cooperation.
He called on the Cambodian legislature to support Vietnamese businesses and ensure a stable environment for ethnic Vietnamese living and working in Cambodia.
Their talks were centered around key areas of bilateral cooperation, including defense, security, trade, and investment, which have seen significant progress in recent years.
Both leaders shared the belief that the outcomes of their discussions would significantly contribute to enhancing cooperation and an enduring friendship between the two nations.

Earlier that day, Man and the Vietnamese delegation paid respects at the Independence Monument, the Norodom Sihanouk Memorial, and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh.
The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument stands as a profound symbol of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
It commemorates the Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives while carrying out the noble international mission of helping the Cambodian people escape the genocidal Pol Pot regime.
The monument also embodies Vietnam's heartfelt gratitude for Cambodia’s support during its struggle for national reunification.
