The indicted doctor is Le My Nuong, who is head of the obstetrics department of the Dam Doi District General Hospital. She operates her own clinic at Dam Doi town. According to the case file, at 4:30 on August 8, Huynh Van Hoi, 47, took his wife Tran Thanh Chi, 41, to Nuong’s clinic for an antenatal examination. The doctor said Chi showed signs of giving birth, so Chi decided to stay there for childbearing.
