-- The People’s Court of Da Nang City on Tuesday afternoon handed down a life sentence to the leader of a counterfeit money production operation, which generated fake currency exceeding VND1.4 billion (US$55,100).

-- Security firm Kaspersky on Tuesday announced that in 2023, they detected and prevented 17.1 million cases of malware infection in network systems through files and removable devices. Among the cases, over 36,000 instances of financial fraud targeted businesses in Vietnam.

-- State-owned lenders Vietcombank, VietinBank, and BIDV are set to jointly provide a syndicated loan of $1.8 billion with a 20-year term to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) for the implementation of the third component of the Long Thanh International Airport project in Dong Nai Province, an ACV resolution showed.

-- The State Bank of Vietnam will auction an additional 16,800 taels of SJC-branded gold bars to businesses at 9:30 am on Wednesday after three previous auctions were canceled, it said in a statement released on Tuesday.
