Hanoi launches campaign to call for submission of wartime mementos

Sunday, August 31, 2014, 17:08 GMT+7

A campaign was launched in Hanoi on Thursday to call for local and foreign individuals and organizations to hand in mementos, which serve as reminders of Hanoians’ intrepidity during wartime and their achievements from the post-war period till now.

Materials and artifacts which reflect the capital city’s heroic past through its resistance wars against the French and American troops that ended in 1954 and 1975, respectively, as well as the city’s cultural and economic accomplishments from then until now should be submitted to Hanoi Museum.

At the launch, the museum received more than 145 items, including historical valuables.

Submissions will be made from now to December 31, 2014 at Hanoi Museum on Pham Hung Street in Tu Liem District.

Those interested can write to hientanghienvat.baotanghanoi@gmail.com for further details.

The campaign is part of the activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation, October 10.
