Tourists flood soon-to-be-closed Dai Nam Park; traffic jammed (photos)

Some ten thousand people on Sunday thronged the Dai Nam Tourist Park in the southern province of Binh Duong as the park, which will be closed from November 20 to December 31, 2014, is offering free admission and discounts. The influxes caused serious traffic congestion on the national highway leading to the park.

The influxes ground traffic on National Highway 13 in front of the park to a complete standstill for two hours.

Some ten thousand motorbikes slowly inched up for kilometers on the highway, from Ho Chi Minh City to the park.

Progress was also painstakingly slow at the downtown area of the province’s Thu Dau Mot City, some 7 kilometers from Dai Nam, due to the massive traffic inflow pouring in from HCMC, Dong Nai Province and other adjacent provinces.

The park was also packed with tourists inside.

Follow-up services like refreshments, food and motorbike parking mushroom on the pavements.

Dai Nam Park’s announcement of free admission and discounts on certain games to their closing day has resulted in a soaring amount of traffic in the area.

Authorities have denied that the closure is due to difficulties caused by local government.
