One young man has been found dead and three others remain missing after a craft submerged in the southern province of An Giang on Saturday night.

The body of the deceased victim, 17-year-old Nguyen Hoang Tuan from Tri Ton District, was found the day after the sinking, according to the provincial Police Department.

The incident began with a banquet held in Nguyen Van Si’s residence to prepare for his daughter’s engagement ceremony the following morning.

The craft, three meters long and one and a half meters wide, was used to carry fifteen people from the party across Channel 13.

The craft capsized halfway, causing four people to go missing, with one later discovered dead.

The three missing victims are 12-year-old Nguyen Van Luan, 17-year-old Ho The Phuoc, and a 31-year-old named Khoa.

A search is underway for the missing trio.
