-- The Department of Industry and Trade in Ho Chi Minh City and the People’s Committee of Binh Thanh District have agreed to re-examine the feasibility of the Thanh Da commercial center project. It was approved in 2007 but has not been carried out so far.

-- Binh Dan Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday set up a department for diagnosis and treatment of men’s diseases.

-- Conflicts between apartment residents and investors have recently worsened because of the absence of regulations to govern the management of apartment buildings in Vietnam.

-- Nearly 600 garment workers of the Hong Kong-invested Regina Mirada Company in the northern city of Hai Phong have been hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning.

-- A total of 19 cases of corruption with the involvement of 329 people have been discovered and investigated in Vietnam, officials said at a meeting to review the prevention of corruption held on December 28 in Hanoi.

-- Young people from 18 to 25 years old are eligible for being admitted into the military for service for two years, according to the law on military service to be effective in 2016. Now, the duration of military service is 18 months.

-- The Da Lat Flower Festival is to open on Tuesday evening and last till January 2, 2016. It is expected to receive 500,000 visitors.

-- During an online meeting the government held on Monday, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh announced that Vietnam reached a GDP growth rate of 6.68 percent in 2015 and is planning to set the target for 2016 at 6.7 percent minimum.

-- Authorities in the southern province of Dong Nai are to try building a concentrated zone for animal husbandry covering 162 hectares in Gia Tan 2 Commune in Thong Nhat District.

-- It is planned that Nguyen Thanh Tung, 40, will be officially appointed general director of Dong A Bank on December 31.

-- Midfielder Xuan Truong of Vietnam's Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC was yesterday transferred to K-League club Incheon United of South Korea for two years.
