-- During their meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang and his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman agreed to boost cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in various areas.


-- Ho Chi Minh City has recently launched the 175-day construction of an overpass at the intersection of Pham Ngu Lao with Nguyen Oanh Streets in Go Vap District.

-- Police in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa is detaining and investigating Nguyen Khac Hai, 18, who is accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl several times.

-- Vietnam is pooling opinions on a draft decree on information security on the Internet, including regulations on social media in which violators could be fined up to VND50 million (US$2,203).

-- Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper correspondents have made their way to the well-protected Tan Son Nhat golf course to the north of the namesake international airport in Ho Chi Minh City to see what is inside, as some National Assembly deputies have proposed withdrawing the land on which the golf course is located to expand the overloaded airdrome.


-- According to Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry Vo Tan Thanh, the Vietnam-U.S. trade relations will develop further, as Vietnam has a number of advantages such as low-cost labor and a stable business environment.


-- Three students from the University of Science under the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City has won the second prize at an information technology contest with their smart surveillance camera. The machine is said to work especially effectively in low-light places.


-- A number of tourism towns in Vietnam like Hoi An and Sa Pa are offering special tourism services in which foreign tourists can learn to farm with real local farmers.

-- Thirty-four choruses with more than 1,000 artists from 10 countries are gathering in Hoi An to compete at the 5th International Choir Competition held by Germany’s Interkulter Association in collaboration with the Hoi An People's Committee.
