Egyptian's heartfelt affection for national flag of Vietnam

Mohamed Baro, originally from Egypt, not only holds a deep affection for Vietnam but also harbors what he describes as an ‘addiction’ to the flag of the Southeast Asian nation, where he has resided for six years.
Baro, 48, washed the Vietnamese flag on Monday in preparation for hanging it at the balcony of his house in Ho Chi Minh City on the following day to observe Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30), the Egyptian told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
He has spent six years living in Vietnam, where he has a great love not only for its friendly people and delicious food but also for its flag, the man said.
As an ‘addict’ of the Vietnamese flag, he has attached it anywhere he can since he arrived in Vietnam.
Whenever he watches a football match featuring the Vietnamese national team, he proudly dons a T-shirt and headscarf adorned with the Vietnamese flag.

He enthusiastically waves a national flag amidst the crowd, joining in the collective cheers to motivate the team.
Baro mentioned that during the same holiday last year, he shared a photo on social media depicting a Vietnamese flag proudly hung in front of his house.
Soon after his post, the photo was spread and shared rapidly among netizens who extended sincere thanks to him for his love for Vietnam and its flag, the Egyptia recounted.
By posting the image, the foreigner wanted to show his special affection and respect for the country in general and for his Vietnamese neighbors and friends in particular, he said.

The man remarked that Reunification Day holds special significance as it symbolizes the reunification of Vietnam and inspires people to come together in the pursuit of building a stronger nation.
He added that he plans to continue displaying the Vietnamese flag on holidays, including Reunification Day, in the future.
Despite running a small shop, the Egyptian man often spends holidays like Reunification Day visiting friends or engaging in sports activities.
He told Tuoi Tre that he has experienced a lot of unforgettable memories over his time living in Vietnam, including those associated with past holidays.
Baro asserted that he will cherish these memories forever in his heart.
