At least five people have been killed after a truck crashed into a series of vehicles along a highway in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Monday.
The accident happened at around 8:20 am along the section of National Highway 20 in Duc Trong District, some 25km from the provincial resort city of Da Lat.
According to initial information, the fertilizer-carrying truck, heading to Ho Chi Minh City from Da Lat, did not stop but continued traveling for another three kilometers after hitting the first motorcycle.
The vehicle then crashed into a mini truck and four other motorbikes, before knocking off a utility post.
The truck only stopped after hitting two cars parked along the street and several local houses.

At least five people, including the driver of the truck, were confirmed dead following the multiple-vehicle crash, according to police.
Two other victims were admitted to the Lam Dong General Hospital with multiple injuries.
The truck driver appeared to lost control of his vehicle prior to the accident, according to officers.
Competent authorities are investigating the crash site.
