A passenger train traveling from Hanoi slammed into a truck in the northern province of Thanh Hoa at around 12:30am on Thursday, killing two people and injuring at least six others, authorities said.
The SE19 train with 400 passengers aboard was heading from Hanoi to the central city of Da Nang when it collided with a truck trying to cross the tracks between the Khoa Truong and Truong Lam Stations in Thanh Hoa.
The train driver and his assistant were killed in the crash.

Other passengers were taken to the nearest train station to continue their journey.
Two level crossing attendants were summoned to work with police shortly after the accident.
