Two men died and another was injured after a violent confrontation took place between drivers at an eatery in Ho Chi Minh City on early Saturday.

Police said when trailer truck drivers were drinking beer in two groups at around 1:30 am at a restaurant in District 2, an angry disagreement occurred between the sides.

One group kept staying with their fun while the other left the establishment.

Half an hour later, the second returned out of the blue and with weapons rushed to the sitting drivers, causing them to race for safety.

Two from the attacked group were seriously slashed and stabbed, and died in hospital while another was wounded.

Police officers arrested members supposedly from the assaulting group on murder charges later on the same day.
