-- A group of male doctors of the oncology department at the Vietnam – Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital in the central province of Quang Binh gifted roses to female in-patients in celebration of the International Women’s Day on Friday morning.
-- Ho Chi Minh City’s food safety authority discovered and destroyed 1,170 kilograms of pork that showed signs of being infected by the foot and mouth disease while they were put on sale at the Binh Dien wholesale market in the southern metropolis’ District 8 on Friday.

-- The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, in collaboration with the ArtBlue Studio, opened a painting exhibition featuring the beauty of Vietnamese women via nearly 40 paintings by ten artists on Friday, on the occasion of 109th International Women’s Day – March 8.
-- Artists from Vietnam and North Korea will join a dance show named “Colour of Dances,” which is meant to mark the 25th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, at the Saigon Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City on March 13.

-- National radio station Voice of Vietnam (VOV) announced on Friday that it has purchased the exclusive telecast rights of the qualification round of the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship, which will take place from March 22 to 26, 2019, and will air all competitions via television platforms.
-- The Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament: Biwase Cup 2019 kicked off in the southern province of Binh Duong on Friday, drawing the participation of 80 female cyclists in nine domestic and seven foreign teams, including two from Japan, and one each from North Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia.
