A woman from Vietnam’s Central Highlands has been arrested for allegedly murdering another woman, along with the victim’s two grandchildren, over personal conflicts.
The Department of Police in Lam Dong Province on Saturday apprehended Nghiem Thi Nhi, 48, who resides in Tan Thanh Commune, to assist the investigation.
The victims were Hoang Thi Vuong, 71, and her two grandchildren, four-year-old D.D.T. and three-year-old D.T.N.T., who were the suspect’s neighbors.
Preliminary information showed that Vuong and the two kids visited Nhi’s house on Friday morning.

They were taking a stroll in Nhi’s avocado garden when an argument broke out between the two women.
The quarrel eventually ended up with Nhi stabbing Vuong to death with a knife, before killing the two children.
The suspect then buried the victims’ bodies at the garden, before catching a motorbike taxi to Duc Trong District, about 50 kilometers away from the murder scene.

Family members reported to local police on Friday night as they had been unable to find the victims.
Officers discovered traces of blood at Nhi’s garden and later found the bodies on early Saturday morning. They then initiated a manhunt for Nhi.
Nhi’s statement showed that she had been having conflicts with Vuong’s son and his wife since 2018.
Further investigation is ongoing.
