A 15-year-old boy from Nghe An Province in Vietnam was found with serious hand injuries after an alleged firework accident on Sunday.

The accident is being investigated by police of Que Phong District in Nghe An.

According to preliminary inspections, the victim L.V.G, 15, was found with his right hand mangled after his neighbors heard a loud bang from his house around 12:00 pm.

G. was hospitalized and has been pulled out of danger, but his hand may suffer functional impairments.

Investigation also revealed that G. has quit school and has experience in improvising explosives, which was highly discouraged by his family.

G.’s case is the third fireworks incident recorded in Nghe An Province over the span of four days.

Earlier on Tuesday, two alleged explosive accidents transpired in Nghe An’s Nam Dan and Tan Ky Districts, killing one and injuring four others.

One of the injured was found with both of his hands disfigured beyond repair.
