One person died and more than 20 others were hospitalized after a coach carrying pilgrims crashed into a tractor-trailer in the north-central Vietnamese province of Nghe An early on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 4:00 am on National Highway No. 1 in Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province, according to police officers.
A bus was carrying pilgrims from north-central Thanh Hoa Province to Nghe An Province along the route when it rear-ended a broken-down tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of the street.
The collision killed one person on the spot and injured about 20 others.
The deceased victim has yet to be identified, while the wounded were rushed to the hospital.
According to doctors at 115 Nghe An General Hospital, most of the victims suffered head, arm, and leg injuries.
One of them was transferred to another infirmary for further treatment due to more severe wounds.
At the crash site, the bus had its front heavily damaged.

One of the pilgrims said the coach was carrying more than 20 people.
They departed from Sam Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province at 2:00 am the same day and were heading to a pagoda in Nghe An.
Police officers have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
