Three people were killed and eight others injured after a truck crashed into a passenger bus in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Monday night.
The accident took place on the section of National Highway No. 1A in Van Phuoc Commune, Van Ninh District at around 11:00 pm on Monday, the district police unit confirmed on Tuesday morning.
A truck carrying fruits with four people on board was traveling on the route when it rear-ended a passenger bus.
The bus, which was carrying 41 passengers, two drivers, and a driver assistant, was on the journey to Hanoi.
The collision killed three people on the spot, including two men aged 26 and 27 on the truck and a 60-year-old woman on the passenger bus.

Eight other victims were injured and taken to the hospital following the crash.
Preliminary information indicated that the truck driver’s lack of observation and speed control had caused the accident.
A report from the Vietnam Register showed that both the truck and passenger bus have legitimate registration.
The chairman of the National Steering Committee for Traffic Safety has arrived in Khanh Hoa to coordinate with local authorities in dealing with the consequences of the accident and to provide support for the victims.
