Many streets in Da Nang City, central Vietnam were inundated as a heavy rain lashed the city on Tuesday, with residents fearing that the coastal city could once again fall victim to historic flooding similar to that earlier this month.
The downpour began dampening multiple areas in Da Nang at around 9:30 am and submerged streets as a result.
The situation overall was not as serious as the historic flooding that struck the city on October 14, but many residents were very concerned that the incident would repeat.

At the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Ham Nghi Streets in Hai Chau District, the rainwater reached as high as 30 centimeters.
A traffic jam also occurred at this location as commuters tried to get out of the flooded section as soon as possible.
Many motorbikes even mounted the sidewalks, which exacerbated the situation.

Medium to heavy rains are forecast to batter the localities from north-central Quang Binh Province to central Quang Ngai Province on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
In Da Nang, the average rain volume will be about 80-180 millimeters and over 250 millimeters in some locations.
