Su-30MK2 fighter jets and Mi helicopters performed aerial exercises as part of planned flight drills over Hanoi on Thursday in order to prepare for the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 next month.

The Vietnam Air Force used Gia Lam Airport in Long Bien District as the base for recent drills it held in preparation for a defense expo set to take place from December 8 to 10.

Fighter jets and helicopters participating in the drills were spotted by many people in the capital city on Thursday, especially by residents in the Long Bien area.

Among the participating aircraft were Su-30MK2 fighter jets and Mi helicopters, both produced by Russia.

The expo, hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, will serve as a chance for leading domestic manufacturers and foreign suppliers to showcase products and connect businesses.
