An hours-long fire burned down a nearly six-hectare section of a forest in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam on Saturday.
Competent authorities detected the blaze at a forest in Vinh Thuc Commune, Mong Cai City, at around 9:00 am on Saturday.
About 60 people were mobilized to put out the flame, but the dry and windy weather was causing a lot of challenges to their efforts.
The fire was not extinguished until 5:00 pm the same day.

About six hectares of pine trees and acacia trees were burned down as a result.
Forest fires have occurred repeatedly in Vinh Thuc Commune over the past few weeks, according to an official from the commune People’s Committee.
Another blaze previously destroyed about six hectares of forest in the locality on Wednesday, he continued.
Due to the dry weather, forest fires often smolder for days and continuously generate new flames.
