-- On the occasion of the Year of the Cat 2023, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong has delivered remarks offering the best wishes to the Vietnamese at home and abroad as well as people around the world, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security said that 22 traffic accidents happened across Vietnam on Saturday, the third day of the ongoing holiday marking the 2023 Lunar New Year, killing 13 people and injuring 15 others.

-- Police in Ha Nam Province, northern Vietnam said on Saturday that they had found an elder who got lost on the Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway while riding around on his bicycle and brought him home safely.

-- Vietnamese level-2 field hospital No. 3 under the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan held the first-ever spring festival to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year with several activities to introduce the Vietnamese holiday to international friends on Saturday night.

-- The Asia Pacific Gateway (APG), one of the major submarine cable systems in Vietnam, encountered an error on Saturday, resulting in sluggish Internet speed throughout the country.

-- British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew and British Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Emily Hamblin have joined hands to make banh chung (stuffed sticky rice cake) and expressed their wishes for Vietnam and its people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

-- “The possibility of a big COVID-19 rebound in China over the next two or three months is remote as 80% of people have been infected, a prominent government scientist said on Saturday,” Reuters reported.
