The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will either restrict or bar vehicles from entering multiple streets in different areas this weekend for the organization of the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City TV (HTV) Cup tournament.
Traffic will be restricted on the route from the Tan Thai Bridge to Provincial Road 7 to National Highway N2 between 9:15 am and 9:30 am on Saturday.
Vehicles will also be limited on the route from National Highway 22 to Cu Chi Overpass through Provincial Road 8, through Tan Quy Intersection, and Provincial Road 8, to the Ba Bep Bridge between 8:45 am and 9:25 am on Sunday.
During the time frame of 9:55 am to 10:40 am on the same day, there will be restrictions on vehicles traveling on the route extending from the Vinh Binh Bridge to National Highway 13, through Pham Van Dong Boulevard, Kha Van Can Street, Vo Van Ngan Street, Hanoi Highway, the Saigon Bridge, Dien Bien Phu Street, the Hang Xanh Overpass, Dien Bien Phu Street again, Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, and ending at Le Duan Boulevard.
The section of Le Duan Boulevard from Pasteur Street to Pham Ngoc Thach Street will be closed to vehicles for a welcome ceremony for the racing teams from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm the same day.
Vehicles that want to drive from the Reunification Palace to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens can take the alternative route starting from Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street through Alexandre de Rhodes Street, Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Nguyen Van Chiem Street, Hai Ba Trung Street, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, to Nguyen Binh Khiem Street.
For the other way around, vehicles can drive from Nguyen Binh Khiem Street through Le Duan Boulevard, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street.
In addition, the following routes also have restrictions on vehicles from 7:00 am to 9:30 am on Sunday:
Route 1: Le Duan Boulevard → Dong Khoi Street → Le Loi Boulevard → Ham Nghi Street → Ho Tung Mau Street → Vo Van Kiet Boulevard→ Khanh Hoi Bridge Underpass → Ton Duc Thang Street → Nguyen Huu Canh Street → Dien Bien Phu Street → Saigon Bridge → Hanoi Highway → turn around at Thu Duc Intersection → Hanoi Highway → Saigon Bridge → Dien Bien Phu Street → Hang Xanh Overpass → Nguyen Binh Khiem Street → Le Duan Boulevard.
Route 2: Le Duan Boulevard → Dong Khoi Street → Le Loi Boulevard → Ham Nghi Street → Ho Tung Mau Street → Vo Van Kiet Boulevard → Khanh Hoi Bridge Underpass → Ton Duc Thang Street → Nguyen Huu Canh Street → Nguyen Binh Khiem Street → Le Duan Boulevard.

The HTV Cup race has been held annually since 1989 and is considered Vietnam’s ‘Tour de France.’
In its 35th edition, the competition is taking 98 cyclists from 14 competing teams through 2,964 kilometers in 25 stages from north to south in celebration of Vietnam’s reunification on April 30, 1975.
Saturday and Sunday will be the race’s last stages.
The tourney finished the 20th stage on Monday, with Russian cyclist Petr Rikunov holding tight on both of the most prestigious yellow jersey and blue jersey, which are given to the riders leading the time classification and the points category.
Rikunov’s compatriot Igor Frolov currently maintains a grip on the red polka dot jersey for the rider with the most mountain points.
