A male director of the Khanh Hoa Radio - Television fell to his death on Monday while surveying the scaffolding of a stand for the 2023 Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam.
The victim, P.N.H., who was deputy head of the arts department at the Khanh Hoa Radio - Television, was rushed to hospital following his fall but emergency treatment efforts failed to save him.
H. was among the staff working at the construction of the stage for the 2023 Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, scheduled to take place at the 2-4 Square in Nha Trang City from June 3-6 with more than 60 events.
The festival stage is set up along the seaside, boasting a width exceeding 100 meters and a depth of over 30 meters.
In the role of the show director, while inspecting a camera’s positioning on Monday afternoon, H. fell from the scaffolding of a stand to the ground.
“The cause of the accident is currently being investigated, and it remains unclear whether it was a result of rain or the man’s carelessness,” said Nguyen Thanh Ha, head of the provincial People’s Committee Office.
Local authorities also asked the organizers of the festival to ensure labor safety measures, Ha added.
