Work on four major expressway projects in southern Vietnam, namely Beltway No. 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau, and Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang, will start next weekend, according to a Government Office announcement recently sent to the Ministry of Transport and relevant localities.
The administration of An Giang Province was told to host the groundbreaking ceremony of the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway on June 17 in a hybrid format, with the participation of the prime minister.
The Government Office also cited the prime minister as saying that work on the remaining three projects will begin concurrently on June 18, during which the prime minister will attend the groundbreaking ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, while Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha will join the ceremony in neighboring Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The transport ministry, the administrations of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dak Lak, and other localities in charge of the development of the projects were asked to closely work together to organize the ceremonies in a safe, formal, and cost-efficient manner.
Last Tuesday, the transport ministry wrote to the prime minister, proposing that work on the four projects should be held on June 18 in a hybrid format in the four locations.
